What is a beta?
When an operating system is launched, it goes through different phases . The final phase is the release of the software, but before that, it goes through a phase called beta. During this phase , the software is tested and updated frequently until a stable and problem-free version is available.
Steps to install iOS 18 beta
Here we go! It’s time to install iOS 18 beta , to do so you will have to follow these steps:
- On your iPhone go to developer.apple.com
- Scroll down to get to iOS 18, click on it and tap Download
- Sign in with your Apple ID and accept the terms and conditions
- With the terms and conditions accepted go to Settings > General > Software Update
- Go to the Beta Updates section and select iOS 18 Developer beta
You’re now ready to install iOS 18 beta! It may take a few minutes for the update to appear. You can close and reopen the Settings app to go to Software Update and download the iOS 18 beta .
You’re probably already looking forward to installing the iOS 18 beta on your iPhone. Before you do, here are a few things to keep in mind:
- Back up your device , preferably on a computer.
